COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains
Hydroxychloroquine………………….200 mg

INDICATIONS
OXCQ is indicated for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis , juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Discoid and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Malaria chemotherapy and prophylaxis.

DOSAGE
Rheumatoid Arthritis
In adults, the treatment is started with a dose of 400 mg daily in divided doses. Once a favorable dose has been attained, a maintenance dose of 200-400 mg is suggested. The dose should not exceed 6.5 mg/kg.
In children, the maximum effective dose recommended is 6.5 mg/kg.
In RA, juvenile chronic arthritis, discoid and systemic lupus erythematosus, treatment should be stopped if no improvement occurs after 6 months of therapy. Sudden stoppage does not lead to any problems.

In Malaria chemotherapy and prophylaxis-
Treatment : 800mg given initially , followed by 400 mg in 6-8 hrs. A further 400 mg is given on each of two successive days.
Prophylaxis : 400 mg once a week , one week before exposure and continuing during exposure till 4 weeks after leaving the area of exposure.

Dermatological conditions caused and aggravated by sunlight- Dose similar to that used for RA.
